The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer with Orora Beverage Cans, you will embark on a 2 year portfolio across the Beverage business, focused largely on the Brisbane activities. This role will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to further develop and apply their technical skills, while also giving exposure to leadership development.

Key Responsibilities

You will spend time managing projects, utilising your engineering skills and learning the essentials of each function within the Beverage Cans Division, whilst having a tangible impact on our business.

Key elements of the role include:

• Plant End to End – develop an overall understanding of beverage can manufacturing through design and build activities.

• Technical Development – build technical expertise by completing different assigned projects with indirect support, to further enhance skills and development.

• Leadership Development – build leadership capability through both from formal Leadership training and on the job experience.

• Mentoring – ongoing career and professional development support with SME & leader mentors during the program. You will also be mentored by external partners to continue your development journey.

A successful candidate for this role will:

  • Relevant Mechanical bachelor or master’s degree

  • Have more than 3+ Years of full-time work experience in the Mechanical field

  • Be an Australian/NZ citizen or Australian permanent resident

  • Strong IT skills (MS office suite- Word, Excel, Powerpoint & MS Projects)

  • Understanding of mechanical processes and operations

  • Knowledge of technical / mechanical drawing

  • Ability to carry out mechanical design and modelling using CAD

  • Ability to prepare technical documentation
