The Jacobs water business has water infrastructure and water resources capability in every major city around Australia working across a multitude of markets such as Utilities, Government, Transport, Resources, and Energy Transitioning to name a few.  

Our team is currently working on projects that have a lasting enduring positive impact on our communities such as advisory services for new water sources for agriculture, flood modelling and engineering services to enable greater connectivity, innovative space saving wastewater sludge treatment projects, and major desalination plants in response to our drying climate.

*About the Role *

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established thriving business with a strong pipeline of projects. Jacobs has secured multiple major infrastructure projects and multi-year contracts with leading public and private clients.

As Mechanical Designer/3D Modeller, you will be responsible for providing engineering design and management within the design team. The designer will deliver technical 3D model production and drawings for water infrastructure using AutoCAD, Microstation, NavisWorks, & AutoCAD Plant 3D (12D and/or Civil 3D would be an advantage), within a team of technical staff.

You will be familiar with drawings standards of our clients and be an advocate for Jacobs own drawings standards and procedures. As Mechanical Designer, you will provide technical input within the design team, undertaking technical deliverables and reviews.

You will attend and participate in project meetings and manage design deliverables in accordance with Jacobs systems and processes. Oversee compliance with all requirements of design quality system and maintain and build on existing client relationships, whilst supporting and promoting a strong level of service delivery to internal and external clients.

You will have the ability to balance resource requirements to meet pipeline expectations, collaborate with Team and Section leaders. Identify and communicate resource availability/constraints. Participate and promote in resource sharing opportunities. Support Project Managers to manage operational risk, delivery HSE and quality, and identify and address issues that would impact on desired project outcomes.

You will support your Performance Unit (PU) to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.

The salary for this role will be in the range of $115K – $125K depending on experience.
