Job Title: MEAL COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY
The MEAL Coordinator HQ provides methodological support to all the MEAL country teams. They also guarantee the quality and relevance of any monitoring activities and internal evaluations, together with any recommendations and analysis provided. They are involved with experience capitalization and developing MedGlobal strategy, by providing a support strategy for the programs in terms of monitoring, evaluation, and integration of any “cross-functional issues” such as accountability to the affected population (AAP) as well as strengthening complaints and feedback mechanisms within the organization.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Evaluation Systems
- Design and implement comprehensive MEAL frameworks for MedGlobal programs.
- Develop and standardize tools for data collection, management, and reporting.
- Establish processes to track program outputs, outcomes, and impact, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.

Data Management and Analysis
- Oversee the processes of collection, cleaning, and analysis of program data.
- Ensure data quality through regular audits and validations and/or systems for ensuring audits and validations are occurring.
- Enhance and maintain dashboards and other visualization tools to support data-driven decision-making.

Accountability and Learning
- Refine and implement accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaints handling systems.
- Facilitate learning sessions and documentation of lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
- Integrate learning into program design and implementation to promote continuous improvement.

Capacity Building
- Provide training and ongoing support to field teams on MEAL tools, methodologies, and standards.
- Strengthen the capacity of partner organizations in MEAL-related areas as needed.

Reporting and Communication
- Prepare high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.
- Ensure timely submission of MEAL-related deliverables, including log frames and performance monitoring plans.
- Collaborate with the communications team to disseminate key findings and impact stories.

Compliance and Coordination
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards in data collection and handling, including data protection and informed consent.
- Coordinate with program managers and field staff to align MEAL activities with program goals and timelines.
- Represent MedGlobal in MEAL-related forums and working groups.
Key Outcomes:
- Standardized MEAL policies and SOPs are implemented across all MedGlobal missions.
- Field teams are equipped with the tools, training, and support needed to execute high-quality MEAL activities.
- Data-driven insights guide program adjustments and strategic planning, enhancing MedGlobal’s global impact.
- Communities actively participate in programs, with robust feedback loops ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- All medical missions, research projects, and other activities adhere to established MEAL standards.
- Global trackers and HQ MEAL management tools are maintained and optimized for streamlined data tracking and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in MEAL responsible for implementing MEAL activities on international development projects.
- Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing MEAL and/or performance monitoring plans.
- Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies.
- Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating project MEAL systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Applicants must be national/local – must devote a minimum of 90 percent of the time to project activities to achieve expected outcomes.
