This role will work across the list, with a skew towards commercial fiction and romance – from Book Tok and Romantasy to more traditional women’s fiction and saga. As well as developing your own sales-driving campaigns, you will be supporting senior marketers to deliver campaigns for some of our biggest books.About CornerstoneCornerstone is a division within the iconic publisher Penguin Random House, our home. In turn, Cornerstone is home to six imprints: Century, Del Rey, Inklore, Hutchinson Heinemann, #Merky Books, and Cornerstone Press, each with its own specific focus and remit. Our books span genres, categories and marketplaces globally.The OpportunityDay to day, you can expect to be:Creating effective marketing strategies for fiction and non-fiction titles delivered on time, to budget, and in line with divisional priorities, with a major focus on romance, romantasy and women’s fictionYou will work closely and effectively with a wide range of divisional departments, including sales, editorial, publicity and international and external stakeholders such as authors and agentsWriting promotional copy and working with designers to produce a wide range of marketing materialsAllocating budget within your own campaignsAcquisition support, including providing feedback, audience insight and supporting on pitch documents, particularly within the romance and romtantasy genresRunning imprint social media channels – creating engaging and effective content to grow our online communitiesWhat you’ll bringYou do not need to have any prior publishing experience to be considered for this role, but experience using key social media platforms, especially Tiktok, and an interest in books within the romance and romantasy genres is a must. You may be a Marketing Assistant or Executive looking for your next step up within publishing or be a marketeer in a different industry looking for a new challenge within books.What’s important to us is that you are passionate about marketing, design and finding new and effective ways of bringing our books to readers. Working at Cornerstone, this may mean developing partnerships, through social media initiatives, bookseller engagement or through impeccable campaign creatives and written copy. You’ll also:Have a creative, curious, innovative and inclusive approachBe able to work effectively both in a team and independentlyHave great communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and experience managing stakeholdersBe able to manage your own time and work to deadlines, to multi-task and prioritise competing demandsBe audience-focused and excited about finding new routes to readersBe passionate about marketing and design.
