These are the areas we focus on when building campaigns, driving engagement, and growing our audience and client base.Overview of the roleThe Marketing Executive plays a key role in supporting marketing activity across all of The Drum’s products – including awards, events, digital offerings, and research.Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager and collaborate with teams across sales, data, editorial, and design to deliver well-executed, omni-channel marketing campaigns that align with revenue targets and broader business goals.A core part of the role involves ensuring we’re reaching the right audiences, with the right message. You’ll work with the data team to help build campaigns that drive awareness, interest, desire, and action – and monitor performance to inform ongoing decision-making.The role requires strong organisational skills, creativity, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.RequirementsKey responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and deliver marketing activation plans aligned with overall business strategy and priorities.
  • Collaborate with the data team to ensure accurate audience targeting across all campaigns.
  • Set up and schedule email campaigns, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, and engaging.
  • Support the Social Media Executive to ensure campaign messaging is promoted effectively across key channels.
  • Write compelling copy for emails, landing pages, webpages and promotional assets.
  • Brief the design team to develop engaging marketing assets and sales collateral.
  • Ensure all marketing and sales materials are accurate, on-brand, and delivered in line with campaign timelines.
  • Track campaign performance, reporting on key metrics to support optimisation and decision-making.
  • Monitor award entries and audience registrations across campaigns, flagging gaps and opportunities.
  • Work with key stakeholders (e.g. award advisors, community management team) to promote judges, speakers, and sponsors.
  • Attend events and awards where required to support on-the-ground marketing activity.
  • Keep data and audience insight front of mind – championing best practice in collection, usage and planning.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested.

Essential skills, competencies & attributes

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marketing role, ideally within media, publishing or a B2B environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – with an eye for compelling copy
  • A good understanding of B2B marketing principles is a plus.
  • Confident using data to support planning and decision-making.
  • Highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple projects at once.
  • A creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Analytical and numerate with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms e.g. Pardot.
  • Experience using Canva and Foleon is a plus.
