Market Research & Insights Manager, Consumer (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

We’re REA

REA Group (https://www.rea-group.com/about-us/about-rea-group/) is not your average digital business. From humble beginnings in a garage in Melbourne’s east in 1995, we have grown into a leading global digital business, specialising in property.

With bold and ambitious goals, we are changing the way the world experiences property. No matter where you’re at on your property journey, we’re here to help with every step – whether that’s finding or financing your next home.

Our people are the key to our success. At the heart of everything we do, is a thriving culture centred around high performance and care. We are purpose driven and collaborative, which drives innovation and our ability to make a real impact. As such, we’re proud to be named in Australia’s “Top 5” Best Workplaces two years in a row, as well as being recognised as a Best Workplace for Women.

Where the team fits in

The Market Research & Insights Manager will join an established team of Market Research & CX specialists. The team lead the largest feedback and research programs at REA to gain a deep understanding of our customers and audience.

Sitting within the Customer Excellence team, they have established themselves as ‘business partners’ meaning they service the needs of the entire business. Naturally, this requires the generation and communication of insights on Consumers (site and app visitors) and Customers (real estate agents) across the core business units in order to provide strategic recommendations to inform product development, sales and marketing.

What the role is all about

We love our audience and through our consumer channels, we seek to understand them as much as we can. We do this through a number of research and insights touch points. This role will be required to review, refine and manage these. These include (but not limited to):

  • Residential Audience Pulse – Regular cross segment studies that capture audience sentiment and key questions that help decision making across the business.

  • Brand Health: Working closely with our Consumer marketing team and our research agency to maximise value from our Brand Monitor across our key consumer brands – realestate.com.au & Mortgage Choice

  • Marketing communication evaluation: Run creative pre and post testing and build a solid evidence base that helps guide comms development on an ongoing basis

  • Marketing channel effectiveness : Provide insights to enable cross media campaign analysis. Offer consult to the marketing communication team to inform investment priority and messaging focus for new products and on an ongoing basis

  • Media / Developer ad uplift attribution: Through media uplift studies and expert consultation

  • ELT/CEO/Board reporting: Provide key data and insights as requested

  • Research budget planning : Plan the consumer research budget in accordance with business priorities and in consultation stakeholders. Create, manage and share a research calendar.

  • Doing it as one team: Periodically engaging and educating the broader company

You will also work across:

  • Customer Group : Insights to enable the sales team to build relationships with customers and demonstrate the value proposition of REA. Insights may be used in sales collateral, at external conferences/seminars, at internal presentations or on a more ad hoc basis in response to market dynamics

The role is hands on to get the necessary things done. But much freedom in generating good ideas and making them happen!
