We are partnering with Abbott, a global leader in the medical device industry, to find a Manufacturing Process Engineer for their Sligo facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a cutting-edge, regulated environment. This is a 10-hour night shift, running Monday to Thursday. About the Role:As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary responsibility will be the preventative and demand maintenance of essential manufacturing and plant equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the equipment, supporting production goals and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily preventative and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and plant equipment to ensure smooth operation and meet production targets.
- Conduct and document functional and safety checks, addressing any deviations from specifications (e.g., air handling, water quality control).
- Assist in the installation, validation, and upgrading of new and existing equipment and processes.
- Collaborate with external contractors and service providers to support equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation.
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety standards, contributing to safety investigations as necessary.
- Work with the quality team to ensure calibration compliance of plant and manufacturing equipment.
- Manage and implement internal and external projects related to plant and manufacturing systems.
Key Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience in a hands-on maintenance or engineering role within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or food processing industries.
- Proven experience in the maintenance of utility or process equipment.
- Electrical trade experience or relevant technical qualifications are an advantage.
- Knowledge of GMP standards and adherence to strict safety protocols within a regulated environment.
