You will ensure seamless 24x7x365 coverage of all global security incidents, working closely with managed service providers for tier 1 support. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively interface with product engineering teams, particularly in a fully cloud-native (AWS) environment. You will also be responsible for partnering across engineering and IT to standardize and scale incident management processes and tooling, while leveraging advanced automation, SOAR platforms, and AI-driven solutions to enhance the team’s capabilities.What you’ll be doing

  • Team Leadership: Hire, manage, and mentor a global team of SecOps engineers, ensuring they are equipped to provide 24x7x365 coverage for security incidents.
  • Incident Management: Oversee the monitoring, detection, and response to all security incidents globally, ensuring that incidents are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Cloud-Native Security: Ensure that security operations are optimized for a fully cloud-native (AWS) environment, including monitoring, incident response, and remediation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product engineering and IT teams to ensure that incident management processes and tooling are uniform, scalable, and aligned across all workstreams.
  • Tooling & Automation: Implement and optimize advanced security operations tooling, including SOAR platforms, to automate routine tasks and scale response efforts.
  • AI & LLM Integration: Explore and integrate AI and Large Language Model (LLM) agents to extend the team’s coverage, enhance alert management, and improve the scalability of security operations.
  • Service Provider Management: Coordinate with managed service providers to ensure they are delivering effective tier 1 support, and collaborate with them to improve service levels.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve incident management processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Develop and maintain KPIs to measure the effectiveness of security operations, and regularly report on the team’s performance to senior leadership.
  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure that security operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and are prepared for audits.

What you’ll have

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in security operations, with at least 2 years in a management role overseeing a globally-distributed team.
  • Cloud Expertise: Strong familiarity with security operations in cloud-native (AWS) environments, including monitoring, incident response, and automation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in security operations tooling, including SIEM, SOAR, and familiarity with AI and LLM technologies.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to hire, lead, and develop high-performing, globally distributed teams.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner effectively with engineering, IT, and external managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Incident Response: Deep understanding of incident management processes and best practices, with experience standardizing both processes and tooling across diverse environments.
  • Innovation: A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for leveraging advanced technologies to enhance and automate security operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with containerized environments and microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to security operations in multiple regions.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML into security operations workflows.
