Job Description
Pay Rate: $100000 to a maximum of $120000 Per Year.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Veolia, the world’s largest environmental service company, seeks a highly motivated business communications manager to support strategic internal and external communications for its fast-growing Sustainable Industries and Buildings division. The business helps industrial and commercial customers operate reliably while meeting their environmental and decarbonization goals, with a focus on building decarbonization, renewable energy, industrial water management and waste-to-energy projects.
In support to the Business Unit Leaders, based on the scope of the Communication Manager, the person is responsible for writing and producing informative and persuasive communications for internal and external audiences including articles, press releases, multimedia presentations, video and social media content. Also responsible for developing regular content for internal and external company websites and assures accuracy and consistency in all communications and documentation.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Write, edit and proofread articles, reports, news releases, presentations, etc.

Work with business leaders to write and update website and social media content. Design and create visual communications, presentations, videos and social media content.

Develop/edit client- and public-facing materials.

Support the day-to-day management and direction of vendor relationships related to communications tasks including writers, public relations agencies, and video producers/editors.

Establish and maintain proactive approach to communications.

Participate in strategic planning sessions for short- and long-term communications activities and make appropriate recommendations for content, strategy and media relations.

Track and distribute written and electronic media coverage of company and company issues as necessary.

Assist with media/communication training of select company leadership and/or other key personnel.

Assist with video production projects related to communications and other initiatives.

Support social media activities related to company participation in events and speaking opportunities.

Supports media relations activities in North America; serves as spokesperson as necessary

Develops press materials, news, social media content, etc.

Provides crisis communications and media training support

Supports internal employee communications

Participates in development of employee communications for company intranet, company newsletter, and other targeted written and electronic initiatives

Creates print and electronic communications (literature, publications, website, e-marketing)

Develops technical and non-technical materials to support general activities, development, HR and external-facing community relations.

Provide direct proactive and reactive crisis/day-to-day communications support to regional executives and project managers in the company’s municipal and commercial business

Supports development, messaging and execution of community relations activities, including program development, measurement, and tactical support.

Manages public events including news conferences, community-based events, media tours, facility tours, environmental and educational activities.

Business development support as needed.

Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations from an accredited university.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
-
A minimum of 5 years’ of communications experience
-
Strong written and visual communication skills
-
Comfort with digital communication and measurement tools
-
Strong knowledge and understanding of the business activities for which the Manager Communication supports
-
Knowledge of company policies and practices as well as methods, procedures and practices of the department to which assigned and of its relation with other departments of the company
-
Ability to demonstrate initiative and tact
-
Ability to maintain confidential information and treat it accordingly
-
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization

Strong background in management of multiple projects with different deadlines

Ability to self-direct with limited supervision

Strong computer skills, including experience with Google Suite

Strong communications skills – including public speaking, writing, editing, etc.

Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training

Experience in industrial companies, energy, technology, and/or public relations agencies

Strong background in technical and/or business to business communications
