We are currently recruiting for a full time maintenance person in our Parnell Road Sub Acute facility.
Main responsibilities:
- Working with the Daily maintenance record book for action list on minor repairs and paint jobs
- Liaising with maintenance personnel to ensure all issues are dealt with promptly and by trained personnel. Redirect any issue that is outside scope
- May be required to travel to other nursing homes to provide assistance where required
- Expected to respond to emergency call-out
- Planting of the flowerbeds and maintenance of flowers, shrubs, trees, and the garden furniture
- Cleaning of the grounds involving cutting the lawns, hedges, and shrubs
- General maintenance and upkeep to include the responsibility of the boiler house, generator, septic tank, rodent control
- Monitoring the heating system to ensure total efficiency in energy conservation
- Monitoring of the water system including temperature checks with particular emphasis on ‘Legionella disease’
- Checking Resident monitoring system ( call bell), hoists and other moving and handling equipment
- Checking ordering and service dates for all equipment to include oxygen cylinders
- Moving of equipment and furniture as directed
- Managing storage and own use of cleaning and other products
- Collection and correct disposable of domestic, ‘sharps’ and clinical waste
- Cleaning of bins both internally and externally
- Conducting a weekly check of fire equipment and weekly fire drill
- Conducting fire induction for new employees
- Assisting with mortuary duty as directed by management
Health and Safety Awareness
- Adherence to precautions identified in the infection control policy
- Attending to any spillages to avoid any accident
- Assisting in the disposal of clinical waste in line with the Nursing home policy
- Application of ‘Manual Handling’ Techniques as trained
- Compliance with fire safety regulations
- Compliance with the Safety statement
- Ensuring the work area is a safe environment for residents and visitors
- Familiar with the Health and safety at work Act 2005
- Compliance with H.A.C.C.P guidelines and all ‘Food Safety’ best practices
- Adherence to all national and local health and safety policies and guidelines
- Carry out practical duties only when competent to do so and redirect any issue that is outside scope
- Assisting in the hygiene of equipment such as hoists, call bells and chairs
- Reporting any defects in equipment
