And where you’ll be taken care of as you take care of bringing purpose to life.Job Summary/ Purpose:To maintain and repair plant, equipment, and buildings in the support of 24/4 production of specialty plastic compounds. Work as part of the maintenance team to meet company objectives in terms of safety, efficiency, and utilisation of production equipment. Participate in providing a “round the clock” troubleshooting service (maintenance, fire or safety).You must be able to demonstrate experience of maintaining plant & equipment by completing both mechanical & electrical repairs.As part of the maintenance team, you will be working to meet the company targets & objectives terms of Safety, Quality Cost & Delivery.Main Responsibilities:

• Completion of Electrical & Mechanical breakdown repairs across the site.
• Carry out repairs and health and safety checks as required to maintain high safety standards to satisfy health and safety legislation.
• Report dangerous and unsafe machinery and respond to health and safety failures to provide corrective actions or isolation of faulty plant.
• Assist in the assessment of risks and carrying out repairs by safe methods of work for all tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Ensure that work carried out unsupervised is to the same standard of safe working to ensure the safety of yourself and any others who may be affected.
• In liaison with Production, implement planned maintenance and repairs to ensure the smooth operation of all production plant. Provide a safe, flexible, skilled service covering 24/4 operation to minimise lost manufacturing time and consequential costs.
• Ensure cost effective and reliable maintenance of all site utility services (gas, water, electricity, etc). Evaluate, recommend and implement energy saving and continuous improvements to the plant.
• Assist as required to maintain appropriate systems, checks, procedures, records and tests (ie lifts/hoists, forklift trucks, calibration, etc) to meet the requirements of safety legislation customers, and Company Insurers.
• Assist in the identification of spare parts requirement and liaise with Engineering Coordinator to ensure correct levels of stock is available within the department.
• In liaison with the Production and Technical Departments, assist in troubleshooting processing problems and process variation and deficiencies. Where necessary, rectify or make recommendations to the process to improve or restore acceptable quality standards.
• Work in liaison with other members of the Management Team to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are maintained with regard to all relevant aspects of compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental policy and legislation.
• Assist where required with the training and instruction of operatives.
• Carry out any projects or other work as required by the Engineering Manager.
• A flexible approach to work & the ability to alter working shift pattern will be required from time to time in order to meet the needs of the business & holiday cover

Complexity of the job:

• This is a local based role, with interaction with various departments and functions within the business, will need to have good relationships and knowledge with key suppliers and be able to manage external contractor when on site.

Education, experience, language & physical requirements:

• Academic Level: Apprentice trained (Electrical / Mechanical)
• Language(s) and level of proficiency: English, fluent

Knowledge / Experience:

• Experience of fault finding & repair of gearboxes & drives
• Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• IT Literate
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to understand Technical Drawings
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of PLC & SCADA systems
• Ability to carry out Electrical / Mechanical installation work
• Fault finding & repair on pneumatic & hydraulic control systems
• Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws):

Candidates with experience of; Test and Inspection Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrician, Multi Skilled Electrical Technician, Technician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Installation Engineer, Electrical Tester, Machine Electrician, Field Service Electrician, Service Engineer, Industrial Electrician, Mechanical Engineer, Repair Technician, Electrical Field Service Engineer may also be considered for this role.
