An exciting opportunity exists in the role of Maintenance Electrician for a full-time, permanent opportunity as part of our Maintenance Team at our Devonport facility. Simplot Devonport is home to our frozen vegetable manufacturing plant which produces 80,000 tonnes of frozen vegetables for Birds Eye, Edgell and private label brands each year.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will provide electrical services to our large scale production operations, and will work a rotating roster that includes day work in addition to seasonal rotations (incl. night shift and weekend work).

With base rates ranging from $36.90 – $46.13 p/h (dependent on trade certifications) + shift allowances + site allowances + penalties + overtime opportunities (expected earnings $100 – $120k p.a) , this is a rare vacancy for those looking to demonstrate a high degree of competency in the electrical field with a global leader in food production.

What You Will Do

• Perform maintenance, preventative and breakdown electrical tasks throughout our production, engineering and office areas of our Devonport facility

• Ensure site plant and equipment is maintained per the maintenance schedule whilst maintaining safety and maximising production requirements

• PLC, automation and electrically controlled systems fault finding, programming and connections

• Work with robotics

• Work in conjunction with other on-site trades (mechanical fitters + contractors) to ensure work orders are completed to a high standard

• Participating in continual improvement processes

• Apply operational standards and procedures

About You

• Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace

• Hold a current Tasmanian Electrical licence (mandatory)

• Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and trouble shooting skills

• Experience with fixed plant electrical works

• Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures

• Ability to read and interpret schematics (advantageous)

• Demonstrated maintenance experience within an FMCG industry plant (highly desirable but not essential)

• Sound judgment and decision making ability

• Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills

• Intermediate user of Windows-based systems and software

• Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
