It’s a view that’s shared by our 10,000+ people around the country, who trust us to provide them with a career that’s always rewarding, often challenging, but never dull.And it’s why we’re the UK’s No. 1 choice for business waste management.Help us make a difference as a Machine Operator at our Biffa Green Energy facility in Hull.This role will be a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which includes day & nights.A quick look at the role.Responsible for operating Mobile Plant and supporting plant processing operations within a modern technology processing facility that turns waste into a sustainable fuel.The required candidates will have experience operating mobile plant/ fixed plant, working within a manufacturing/ processing type environment.Health and safety is our number one priority , we operate under our “Safer Together” health and safety culture.The Biffa division you’ll be supporting.Biffa Green Energy is part of our Resources & Energy division that aims to produce solid recovered fuel pellets from non-recyclable household waste. Pellets are used as a coal substitution in heavy industry offering carbon emission savings. • Operation of a loading shovel.
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under the direction of Foreman and Site Manager.
• Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management.
• Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in all internal areas.
• Liaise with BWS and external hauliers to ensure timely dispatch of materials from site.
• Liaise with Foreman to ensure timely supply of process consumables to minimise process downtime and maximise throughput.
• Taking due care for the safety of self and others in accordance with health and safety legislation, company procedure and toolbox talks. Reporting of any safety or environmental issues to site management.
• Attend site safety meetings/toolbox talks when required.
• To carry out any other reasonable job related tasks.
