We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Australia.

As Legal Counsel you will provide business-oriented solutions and legal and risk advice in Australia and New Zealand, to facilitate the achievement of business goals and objectives. Advise on contractual questions, structuring of complex projects and project delivery related issues, including drafting, reviewing and negotiation a range of contract and project documents, legal documents and providing transactional support on key deals and projects, in order to mitigate risk exposures to Siemens. You will provide general corporate legal advice, design and from time to time deliver legal issue related training.

You will also be involved in structuring new business models in the software and cloud environment, managing litigations, disputes and claim management processes and structuring and supporting M&A transactions and internal reorganisations.

Given the global nature of the Siemens’ operations, you will have the opportunity to participate actively in the development of cross border collaboration between the Siemens Legal team in Australia and legal teams across the ASEAN region.

The role will report to the Senior Legal Counsel in Australia.

To be successful in this role it is likely that you will have:

• A Degree in Law with at least 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) from a leading law firm and/or international company.

• A current Australian Practicing Certificate.

• Experience with front end matters including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and, contract management,

• Experience with back-end matters including managing disputes and claims including engaging external counsel as required

• Experience working in a construction, infrastructure, or similar environments.

• Experience in IT/digital and software projects is an advantage.

• An understanding of legal tech applications and readiness to implement, apply and improve such applications.

• An ability to build rapport, be personable and a demonstrate high levels of energy and drive.

• Good analytical and drafting skills, organized and committed to supporting business demands

• Self-motivated, with an ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic corporate environment

• Adaptable, agile, reliable and a commercially minded team player

• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

• Open to “future of work” models.
