Applications are invited for two Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) roles in the School of Civil Engineering. These are permanent academic posts.

The School of Civil Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent research and education. It has an international reputation as a centre for excellence for research and teaching, ranked in the global top 150 for `Civil and Structural Engineering’ (QS Global Rankings), ranking number 1 in Ireland. The School has world-leading researchers in Critical Infrastructure and Water Resources, and is home to the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research, and the Dooge Centre for Water Resources Research. The successful appointees will have the ability to engage actively in the School’s research and to make a significant contribution to teaching and university life. The School is recruiting suitably qualified candidates, with an expertise relating to its teaching and research activities. The School has a focus on strengthening its expertise relating to climate change, data analytics, digitisation, and renewable energy, and applicants should have the ability to contribute in some or all of these areas.

The School delivers a range of undergraduate and taught graduate programmes, including a dual undergraduate programme in the Chang’an Dublin International College in China, and a dual master’s degree programme with Columbia University in New York. School faculty have won National Teaching Excellence Awards, College Teaching Excellence Awards, and have been appointed as UCD Teaching and Academic Development Fellows. The successful appointees will play a key role in the delivery of programmes delivered by the School.

The School will provide the successful appointees with funding to support a PhD student (stipend and fees) for a four-year period, on commencement of the post. The successful appointees will be encouraged to choose a mentor from the School Faculty, to support their academic development.

95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above The Bar (7943) Salary Scale: €60,261 – €95,425 Per Annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
