Roles and Responsibilities
- Reports to the Manager, In-Vessel Reactor Modification Services and reports functionally to the Product Line Leader responsible for fleet wide modifications of the respective vessel internals system (Bottom Head, Jet Pump, Shroud / Feedwater / Core Spray).
- Support Oversight and management of project engineering, procurement, quality, financials (especially cost forecasting and control), staffing, and training / qualifications prior to site implementation.
- Support appropriate relations and interact effectively with multiple levels of the customer organization on commercial, technical, and compliance issues.
- Support project planning, risk forecasting, and management.
- Provides work coordination and supervision to GE and contingent workers performing engineering and other functional activities necessary for project delivery.
- Perform with Field Delivery Project Management.
- Participation in key design reviews, tooling and hardware shakedown, training, and qualifications primarily measured on project success as measured by the following:
- Setting a tone within the business of integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Customer satisfaction in key business defined areas.
- Meeting or exceeding project financial targets.
- Field execution and leadership of project and field teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Science or Engineering and 3 years of nuclear industry experience OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering or project management position in the Nuclear Industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Management
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time in both the US and International.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical.
- Ability to pass Fitness for Duty requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to domestic and international customer sites (nuclear facilities).
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
Desired Characteristics
- Proven ability to manage complex projects.
- 3 years+ experience in engineering problem solving and facilitating resolution between diverse groups and interests.
- BWR vessel internal hardware knowledge / experience.
- Knowledge of nuclear industry products.
- Experience with contracting issues associated with technical projects.
- Experience working with nuclear plant outages/services and with customers.
- Experience and existing access to Primavera.
- Experience and existing access to the Project Management region of ERP and iProject.
- Open communication style and ability to develop team relationships, including vendors and global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers and technical support teams.
- Strong grasp of reactor vessel internal hardware design issues, balanced with understanding of complexities of field.
The base pay range for this position is 91k – 122k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 8/30/24.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
