We’re on the hunt for a talented and experienced lead backend engineer to join the Delta team in Ghent, Belgium!

• What you’ll do:

• Craft and scale the backend architecture that powers our innovative Delta apps
• Dive into a tech stack that includes Typescript (on Node.js), MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and ElasticSearch
• Handle CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for testing, linting, and security scanning
• Deploy code to production multiple times per day in an AWS cloud environment
• Mentor and coach the backend engineers
• Tech Stack:

• Languages: Typescript (Node.js), Golang, Rust
• Frameworks: React Native (Mobile), React with Next.js (Desktop)
• Data stores: MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch
• Others: AWS, GitHub Actions

You’ll be working in our office in Ghent, Belgium. We’re located right in the city center in a gorgeous historic building, which is pretty cool. Psst… no worries if you can’t speak Dutch, we’re used to communicating in English. Not looking for remote positions though.You’ll be part of a scale-up, which is part of a big company (eToro). • BS (or higher, e.g., MS or PhD) in Computer Science
• 5+ years of relevant work experience

Your superpowers:

• Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasks
• Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership
• Solid grasp of common software engineering practices, including modern design patterns, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment

Must-have skills:

• Proficiency in Typescript on Node.js
• Solid experience with MySQL and Redis
• Deep knowledge of AWS platform and Linux environments

Bonus points for:

• Time series-oriented database systems
• Blockchain development expertise
• Ability to mentor and coach junior developers
