Job Description

The Position

Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring analytical activities and associated tasks are conducted in a safe, professional, timely manner and in accordance with required policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately completingassigned tasks according to approved Laboratoryprocedures and work instructions in a timely fashion.

• Managing and preparing samples and reagents for analysis.

• Undertaking analyses with various analytical equipment and instrumentation as required.

• Contribute to a positive culture with a high regard for Safety, Inclusion and Diversity.

• Identifying anomalies in analytical results and assisting with the investigation of non-conformances.

• Ensuregood housekeeping practices are upheld.

• Undertake calibration and maintenance of equipment, consumables stock inventory control and assisting with other duties as required.

Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements

• Computer literacy (MS Office).

• Strongorganizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

• Highly motivated with proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Goodorganizational, communication and time management skills.

• Quality focused with a high attention to detail.

• Previous laboratory experience – desirable.

Education / Qualification Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in a scientific or related discipline – desirable
