My client a Higher Education Body based centrally in Dublin 2 are seeking to hire a IT Service Desk Analyst on an 12-18 month contract.This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is passionate about new IT and digital technologies and wants to work in a fast-paced Service Desk environment.For the first 6 months, the successful person will be required to on site 5 days per week, moving to 3 days onsite/2 remote following a successful probation period.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt in-depth, customer-focused technical support to staff, students, and any visitors.
  • Provide in-person, phone, and remote based 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Line support for any service within the IT Service Catalogue and resolve all issues withdesktop computers, laptops & mobile devices used by academic staff, administrative staff, and students.
  • Resolve incidents and service requests, raised via the IT Service Desk, adhering to agreed procedures and service levels.
  • Perform hardware and software fault diagnosis and resolution including re-building devices and recovering data.
  • Responsible for the technical systems administration for an IT Service Desk tools, for example the Phone Call Management, Queue Management, Remote Support, and ITSM system.
  • Responsible for the technical systems administration of an endpoint (desktop & laptop) devices estate management tool, for example for Operating System patching, management of Anti-Virus & Encryption, or for supporting remote access (VPN).
  • Ensure that all work is logged and recorded in the IT Service Desk system and that customers are kept informed of the status and progress of incidents logged.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in an Information Technology, Computer Science related discipline or A degree or postgraduate qualification with demonstrable appropriate level and range of professional experience in IT – essential
  • At least 2+ years experience working in a IT Support/Service desk role – essential
  • ITIL or equivalent IT Service Management qualification – desirable
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Windows and Mac Operating Systems and knowledge of a wide-range of software applications including MS Office (O365), web browsers, and utilities
  • Excellent troubleshooting knowledge for Windows & Mac operating systems and hardware issues
  • Knowledge of networking troubleshooting
  • Awareness of IT security fundamentals
