In the role, the successful candidate will:

  • Take a lead role in ensuring that the key technical security controls meet the needs of our business.
  • Provide IT security oversight and guidance on technology projects.
  • Review & investigate the output of security tools, including Vulnerability Assessment, SIEM & automated scripts, for security vulnerabilities and significant changes to the security status of the organisation.
  • Maintain an awareness of emerging security threats and developments.
  • Take a lead role in selecting and evaluating new and emerging IT security technologies.
  • Technical escalation point for security team members
  • Lead technical aspects of response to security incidents
  • Ensure that our policies and practices align with relevant industry practices and standards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of key security & IT controls.
  • Assist in the developments & implementation of the Security Awareness program.
  • Oversee third party management assurance activities.
  • Facilitate security awareness induction training.
  • Assist the Head of IT Security & Risk IT Security in responding to security incidents.
  • Become a key member of wider IT team to support the overall Davy strategy

Requirements:About youWe are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:

  • Analytical, organised and problem-solving temperament by nature with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security, IT audit or related discipline.
  • At least one of CEH, CISA, CISM, CISSP or related certifications.
  • Excellent written and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in several key security technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Networking technologies, Azure, Linux and windows security features

Advantageous

  • Degree in Information Security or IT.
  • Azure Information Security accreditations
  • IT Audit experience
  • Knowledge of IT Security best practices
  • Knowledge of Information Security and Risk frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Top 20.

Problem Solving

  • An ability to engage the process and best practice associated with creative problem solving.
  • A methodical approach to incident management which identifies similarities and overlaps to recognise problems and recommend improvements.
  • Strong technical skills are required to understand the infrastructure environment and meet the organisation’s needs.

Communications

  • A clear understanding of how to identify business needs and driver and how to deal effectively with a variety of situations.
  • An awareness of the needs of developing professional relationships
  • An understanding of security metrics and service level agreements (SLA’s)
  • An ability to provide clear and appropriate updates to colleagues in a professional and appropriate fashion.

Schedule Management

  • An ability to work to clearly defined priorities.
  • An ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanour while at times working under pressurised situations.
  • An ability to manage one’s workload to ensure adherence to predefines SLA based on business priorities
  • An ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities.
