IP Coding Manager – Remote

What you’ll do:

As a IP Coding Manager, you will be responsible for managing the remote coding employees as well as monitoring processes and personnel for the Centralized Coding Center. Acts as a coding resource for facility/HSC coding staff, HIMD and medical staff as needed. Participates in the identification of educational areas for the company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and monitors daily coding functions and processes to ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations within coding area of department.
  • Assesses coding accuracy and competency through review and audit results, reporting any discrepancies to senior director, coding and CDI operations.
  • Maintain the facility assignments to decrease pending accounts with timely follow up. Daily review and response to Business Office holds.
  • Prioritizes coding functions to assure records are coded within facility defined number of days from discharge. Collaborates with the team to maintain and exceed DNFC goals while maintaining good employee relations.
  • Attends educational webinars, conference calls, other coding seminars, and participates in all formal and informal coding discussions. Complete all assigned compliance courses within assigned period of time.
  • Conforms to AHIMA’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Ethical Coding and ensures patient/employee privacy by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience: 8+ years of experience 

Certifications: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) required.
