About the opportunity:

The Inventory Manager Support is responsible for providing logistic support the Global Field Services department in executing services for L3Harris Communications Australia (L3HCA) business. The Inventory Manager Support position is part of the Demonstration Pool team that will provide primary support to the Platform Installation capability for the L3HCA business opportunities. In addition, the Inventory Manager Support will support demonstrations, tradeshows, trials, training and other related activities across the Asia Pacific region. The Inventory Manager Support will also provide dedicated and intimate support to the Platform Installation staff and report directly to the Global Inventory Manager. Providing integrated logistics management of Government Furnished Equipment/Material (GFE/GFM), acquisition, purchasing and stocktaking to provide end-to-end logistic solutions for authorized activities.

The role may require travel domestically in Australia to provide dedicated support to the Global Field Services department pre-sale or post-sale tasks. The Inventory Manager Support will support the Global Inventory Manager with accountability of all demo pool equipment, ensure equipment is in a serviceable condition, and report any damages or losses in accordance with current procedures.

Responsibilities of the role include the following:

  • Provide logistics support to L3HCA Global Field Services Department.

  • Be prepared to support pre-sale inventory management tasks remotely or at L3HCA.

  • Be prepared to support post-sale inventory management tasks remotely or at L3HCA.

  • Work closely with Global Field Service staff to complete business assignments.

  • Conduct the management and accountability of program equipment.

  • Raise and manage all documentation relating to the movement of equipment.

  • Conduct stocktaking responsibilities and planning for management of equipment.

  • Conduct purchasing and acquisition responsibilities to support the Global Inventory Manager.

  • Raise requisitions for all new and replacement stock against the L3Harris Corporation demo department.

  • Utilize the L3HCA Demonstration Initiation Planning (DIP) Tool for all local activities.

  • Be prepared to liaise with logistic service providers, freight forwarders and customs.

  • Undertake local disposal action of non-licensed obsolete or damaged equipment as directed by the L3Harris Corporation demo department.

  • Understanding of simple procurement process and exposure to its application within defence and industry is desirable.

  • Competent in MILIS and demonstrate practical knowledge of issue/receipt/SCA transactions.

  • Prepared to conduct domestic or international travel in support of activities.

    Skills and Qualifications:

  • TLI31610 – Certificate III in Warehousing Operations

  • Extensive prior related experience

    Desirable skills:

  • COMSEC account management experience

  • Previous exposure to high tempo logistics environment (preferably Australian Defence Force)

  • Experience with international logistics

  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
