Our new Limerick facility will be one of Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing sites and will include next-generation manufacturing technologies, and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will result in safety and quality improvements, increased productivity, and variability reduction. A highly automated and digitally advanced Logistics Centre will be at the heart of the facility.Responsibilities:The Inventory Controller is responsible for development of inventory management systems, stock strategies, reporting and coordinating the logistics of orders and transfers within the Logistics Centre. They will support the development of start-up strategies and transition into supporting execution of logistics in the new facility, post start up. In this phase, the role will transition into a daily operations support role to ensure compliant execution of daily operations in the Limerick Logistics Centre.In line with the job outlined above, the following are typically the key tasks that would be expected of the role:Project Phase

  • Support the project in the design & implementation of SAP roll out.
  • Support the design & implementation of an inventory management and reporting system including KPIs (key performance indicators).
  • Support the Warehouse Control System and integration with SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
  • Support the design & implementation of business processes associated with inventory control including the creation of relevant documentation.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders including the Logistics Centre to develop a stock level strategy.
  • Establish a cycle counting programme, in compliance with corporate requirements.

Post Project Responsibilities

  • Management of inventory in the Logistics Centre in Lilly Limerick to meet the demands of the business.
  • Monitor daily performance of the systems, looking for trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage change controls and support and lead quality investigations.
  • Support the development of Logistics Centre SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in partnership with the Logistics Centre team.
  • Review and report daily trend metrics in relation to stock performance and identify any slow moving inventory.
  • Lead and execute continuous opportunity initiatives to drive efficiency and operability of Limerick’s automated data and logistics systems.
  • Participate in a cross functional Inventory Management Review board.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Pre-Requisites

  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with suppliers, customers, and team members.
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy in tracking inventory, identifying discrepancies, and solving problems.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to balance short-term needs with long term business evolution.
  • Proficiency in an ERP system e.g. SAP
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques, such as First Expired, First Out (FEFO), Last In, First Out (LIFO), Kanban and VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Enthusiasm for changes, team spirit and flexibility
