JOB TITLE: Special project manager and department – safeguarding lead.
DEPARTMENT: International Football Development
JOB FUNCTION: To support new and existing long-term partnership, whilst acting as the department safeguarding lead and supporting compliance and deliver across all programmes.
LOCATION: Place of work will be Cobham with frequent travel throughout the year.
CONTRACT: 35hrs per week, normally 5 of 7 days per week (This will vary when travelling).This role will include extensive travel, annually, peak periods are April to November. Trips can last between 1 and 3 weeks at a time, this will include activities sometimes being delivered at weekends and during the evening, so a high degree of flexible is required with this role. Staff will require a fixed UK address and support regional UK activities when in the UK with our office base being Cobham.PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):
Core responsibility will be to support selected existing long-term and short-term partnerships, ensuring highest standards are set and maintained by the partners and coaching staff.
Regular monitoring visits and project management of long-term overseas projects will be required, every 3-6 months. The focus of the visits will be to meet with the partnership management, document and review safeguarding and compliance standards, evaluate the programme delivery coaching standards and lead any appropriate CPD for the coaching staff.
Co-managing associated Chelsea coaching staff, delivery will involve developing the curriculum, session planning evaluation and ongoing expansion of the delivery plan.
Acting as the department safeguarding lead the successful candidate will also be required to build a closely working relationship with the key department in the club, including safeguarding and H&S teams, ensuring processes are followed, risk assessment are created and external policies are approved in-line with club standards.
As part of this compliance role the project officer will with work senior staff to support checks and visits to new and existing partnership ensuring standards are set and upheld.
Supporting and coordinating trip logistics, staff checks, visa’s application, vaccinations and pre trip meetings will also be a requirement of the role.
As a senior coach you will also support planning and lead some coaching programmes annually. Activities could include delivery of club programmes domestically and overseas, working pitch events and UK team coaching experiences, and sponsorship experience.
Financially this member of staff will also be responsible for managing specific project budgets and ensuring staff follow company policies.
Reviewing, reports, engagement data, EQIA standards and collating key information to feedback post trip would be an added responsibility for the department manageDO THE RIGHT THING (Our Expectations):

Qualifications:
Essential
FA UEFA B License coaching certificate (or equivalent),
Valid FA Emergency First Aid and FA Safeguarding Children certificate.
Coach education qualification / Teaching, or Sports Science / Studies, or related degree.
Operational or management qualification would be advantageous.Coaching Experience:
At least 2000hrs coaching experience in a community development programme, with boys and girls of all abilities from 3 to 18 years.
At least 2000hrs experience of coaching and managing and team and players between 8 and 18 years old in a centre of excellence or academy environment would be essential.
Experience of working with international players and coaches, (both English and non-English speaking) from different cultural backgrounds is required.
Coach education and mentoring experience would be required as part of this role.Business Experience:
Relevant experience of leading and developing business opportunities in the football industry.
Extensive experience of managing and motivating a team of coaching staff.
Experience of managing developing working relationships with external key stakeholders.
Project management and operational management experience would be beneficial to this role.
Experience of event management and problem solving in a pressured environment.Business Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. This should include an ability to speak publicly and present to large groups of players and parents.
Computer literate and able to develop clear reports and power point presentations.
Self-motivated to work to deadlines as well as remain calm under pressure.
Excellent organisation skills, with an ability to maximize personal/team performance.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage and influence towards a positive outChelsea FC and the Foundation is fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults at risk (vulnerable groups).
