Caterpillar Resource Industry is looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join the team based in either Perth or Brisbane CBD.

Job Description:

The position primarily supports a key segment of our Resources Industries portfolio in Australia, working as part of a global diverse team driving our people strategy.

This position will report to the Senior Human Resources Manager based in Newcastle.

Principle duties and responsibilities:

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will perform a variety of HR duties of moderate complexity, allowing you the autonomy to apply demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities vary, but may include any of the following:

  • Provide direction and guidance to employees and leaders in the interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as laws if applicable.

  • Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team within the Resource Industries group

  • Deploy strategic HR and diversity and inclusion initiatives to improve department results.

  • Ability to lead local and global projects on people matters.

  • In partnership with leaders, provide talent development solutions to improve employee engagement, leadership acumen and business results.

  • Assist managers in addressing individual and organisational effectiveness issues.

  • Partner with our talent attraction team and hiring managers to source top talent

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • Prior working experience in human resources function

  • Must be proficient in the full MS office suite

Top candidates will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Labour law and regulations governing the Human Resources function.

  • Sound understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.

  • ​Excellent customer service.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse situations, make decisions and take measured risks using available data as well as insight.

  • Proven ability to maintain high-level of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive issues.

  • Understanding of total rewards strategies including unique benefits applying to mine sites in Australia.

  • Experience with Workday, Teams and SharePoint is desired or other similar people management systems.
