Scholars School System, a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006), is seeking a Human Resource Manager across all campuses, including Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford, and Leicester, based in the Birmingham campus.Reports to: Director of OperationsPurpose:The organisation seeks to appoint a Human Resource Manager to provide HR generalist support in a higher education setting, offering comprehensive, professional HR support to staff and Senior Management. The role involves assisting in employee relation matters and all processes of the recruitment cycle.Responsibilities:

  • Provide full HR generalist support on administrative, operational, and strategic HR activities, complying with statutory obligations and best practices.
  • Offer comprehensive, professional, and confidential HR support to staff and Senior Management.
  • Manage HR issues, coach and advise other managers, and ensure compliance with appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee Recruitment and Induction processes.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment, ensuring all pre-employment and safeguarding checks are completed.
  • Manage the recruitment administration team, liaising with senior colleagues to ensure the right balance of skilled and experienced staff.
  • Oversee all campuses, ensuring they are consistently inspection-ready.
  • Oversee Performance Management.
  • Issue contracts to staff members.
  • Manage all audits, including payroll, pensions, and HR audit.
  • Handle ad-hoc HR projects/research as needed.
  • Provide detailed reports to senior management teams.

Requirements:Essential:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (HR)
  • CIPD level 5 (Minimum)
  • Significant HR experience within Higher Education in the UK
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK Employment Law
  • Proficient MS Office skills, particularly Excel

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience
  • Basic hours are 9am to 6pm on site
  • Trips away from the office are often required
  • Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period
  • 3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
