This is a hybrid working position working out of our Eurofins Cork site. Occasional travel to our Dublin site will also be required.

Working hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri – 9am- 5:15pm whilst Wednesday hours are 9am – 5:30pm.

As a HR Specialist for our Cork (Food & Environment testing) and Dublin (Food Testing) sites you will build and maintain relationships by being a strategic partner with management and advocate for employees.  You will provide guidance on employment law, coordinate performance management and resolve employee relation matters as and when needed. 

You will also provide guidance on HR policies and procedures in areas such as performance management, absence, benefits, compensation, employee engagement, talent management & development and recruitment. There will be opportunity to be involved and lead projects too. 

  • Coaching Senior stakeholders and providing consistently sound HR advice.

  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on employee relations matters including employment law and HR policies & procedures in a wide variety of areas.

  • Organise day one company inductions including delivery of HR section.

  • Guide Line Managers during probationary periods of new employees.

  • Support Line Managers / attend meetings where necessary on matters including performance management, disciplinary, appeals, grievances, flexible working requests etc.

  • Support on the introduction of new HR Policies and Procedures in line with legislation and/or company requirements. Ensure existing policies are up to date and relevant to the businesses.

  • Provide support, guidance and deliver HR training sessions to line managers including areas such as employment legislation, company policies and company updates.

  • Manage the Time & Attendance system for your sites.

  • Responsible for submitting payroll data to the Ireland Payroll Team.

  • Responsible for management of annual pay review / bonus process.

  • Champion the annual PDR process across your sites.

  • Collate training needs from annual PDR process and work with Central UKI L&D team to ensure that plans are in place per department for the provision of the agreed training.

  • Responsible for working with the UKI HR Team to ensure that offer letters, contracts, and company handbook are up to date and relevant to Irish legislation and employment law at all times.

  • Subject matter expert in right to work identification.

  • Support the roll out of annual engagement survey.

  • Actively participate in team and company meetings

  • Project work as relevant to scope of role / HR team

  • Occasional travel to Ireland and UK sites for team meetings or business requirements.

     

  • CIPD level 3 or significant experience in HR environment

  • Clear knowledge of HR practice & process

  • Employment law (various areas) / contractual knowledge

  • Right to work knowledge

  • Data protection knowledge – basic level

  • HR/T&A system / system experience

  • Experience advising line managers and employees in HR relevant matters

  • Handling conflict – and seeing it through to completion

  • Problem solving skills, able to make appropriate decisions without referral

  • Able to present with confidence

  • Ability to train 1-2-1

  • Good Microsoft skills (inc. Word/Excel/Teams/Outlook)

  • Organised, able to plan ahead and meet deadlines / objectives

  • Able to handle interactions with senior managers and ‘guide them’ on what should be done

  • System driven to support management of key tasks & actions

  • Confident
