The team combines the development and maintenance of essential housing policies and strategies with data analysis and the implementation of service improvement initiatives across our operational housing services.About The RoleThe role of the Housing Policy & Partnerships Manager is crucial in shaping innovative policies that meet residents needs, meet regulatory requirements and create opportunities for the improvement of services. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the housing directorate to respond to significant national drivers for change including a raft of new legislation related to the management of social housing stock, homelessness and standards in the private rented sector.As a manager, you will lead a team of policy officers responsible for developing high quality policy outputs on a range of policy issues across housing. You will identify policy issues by maintaining your knowledge of relevant policy areas and monitoring emerging issues to develop new policy ideas and solutions. You will build relationships with services across housing as well as registered providers in the borough. You will collaborate with the Governance Team and develop high quality reports for senior officers, Housing Select Committee, Mayor, and Cabinet, along with other internal decision-making groups.What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for a motivated, strategic minded and focused leader. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and a proven track record of policy and strategy development, a strong knowledge of policy functions and processes, and a comprehensive understanding of housing legislation. A key requirement will be keeping abreast of changes in national housing regulation and ensuring that the housing directorate is well prepared to respond. You will have an eye for detail, can analyse complex problems and are able to represent these in a way that is accessible to a range of stakeholders including residents, senior managers, and councillors.
