Uniting our expertise drives greater impact in health development.If you are passionate about global health, excel at building partnerships and are eager to lead/coordinate a coalition that is making a real difference, we want to hear from you!Your role as coordinator:You’ll be the driving force behind our coalition, bringing members together, facilitating joint programme development – including our flagship 5-year DGD programme – and representing our collective interests to external stakeholders.By 2027, the coordinator should have helped establish the coalition as a recognised and influential voice within the Belgian development cooperation sector.What you’ll do: * Organise, coordinate, and facilitate the coalition of 9 NGOs working in health system strengthening to maximise joint impact:

  • Play a key role in building the new coalition.
  • Coordinate and organise the coalition’s governance structure (steering committee, coordination committee and working groups).
  • Ensure planning and follow up of the key activities, involving all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and develop the coalition’s joint programmes and initiatives by bringing together relevant actors, in Belgium and in partner countries:
  • Coordinate the development of joint programmes, particularly the Belgian DGD programme due for submission by mid-2026.
  • Act proactively as a facilitator, organizing dialogue between all members to ensure active participation and contribution to the coalition’s joint programmes and advocacy efforts.
  • Facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and group discussions, stimulating and optimising complementarity and synergy between the coalition members and other relevant actors.
  • Coordinate the programme monitoring & evaluation:
  • Oversee the MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability & learning) of the coalition activities with members and partners.
  • Foster dialogue to ensure complementarity between the coalition’s work and other stakeholders’ interventions (e.g. ENABEL) in relevant countries.
  • Report back to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Funding opportunities and visibility:
  • Foster collaboration and complementarity among coalition members and other stakeholders, including funders.
  • Represent the coalition’s interests to key stakeholders such as DGD, Enabel, academic institutions, and others.
  • Ensure strategic positioning of the Coalition towards external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience:Candidates should have:

  • Master’s degree in relevant domain
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the Belgian or international development cooperation, particularly with programmes co-funded by DGD or other relevant institutional funders;
  • Demonstrated understanding of international cooperation issues, trends, methods, and instruments;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects with various stakeholders and working with groups;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Furthermore, the following would be considered assets:

  • Experience in health development programmes and health system strengthening;
  • Master’s degree in public health;
  • Field experience in implementing international cooperation projects;

Profile:A mid-career professional with a strong track record, suited for a senior role. Ideal candidates will be passionate about global health and health system strengthening and possess excellent diplomatic and project management skills. The following competencies are essential:Strong communicator and networker:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and listen actively to coalition members
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Excellent networking and public communication abilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain robust interpersonal and diplomatic skills when working the coalition members
  • Fluent in French and English; Dutch (passive knowledge) is an asset.

Facilitator and team player:

  • Strong negotiation and facilitation skills, capable of uniting diverse groups.
  • Creative thinker, able to innovate and drive change.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and ensure the implementation of agreed actions.
  • Ability to coordinate tasks effectively

Autonomous self-starter:

  • Entrepreneurial, autonomous and flexible,
  • Hands-on approach with a focus on the soft skills (communication, attitude)
  • Maturity and independence to work with directors and senior-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Work conditions:Start date: Latest 1st of June 2025Type of contract: full-time and permanent position (CDI), open to Belgian residents or individuals with the legal right to live and work in the EU.Location: based at Memisa offices in Brussels, with additional workplaces at other coalition members’ offices in Belgium.
