This role is part of that journey so it’s an exciting time to join us!As a charitable Trust Everybody Health & Leisure operates leisure facilities across Cheshire East, on behalf of Cheshire East Council, Holmes Chapel Parish Council and Bruntwood. Our head office is based in Holmes Chapel where our business support functions are housed, and we currently employ around 1,000 people. We re-invest 100% of our surpluses into our people, facilities, and local communities.About you & the roleWe pride ourselves on our positive health & safety culture and are looking for someone who wants to take us to the next level.A trusted & honest individual you’ll be responsible for providing advice and guidance across all our services and departments, ensuring Everybody continues to meet its legal responsibilities regarding Health & Safety. Working in the service of others you’ll spend time on both delivery & management tasks, also playing a key role on the Health & Safety Committee.Caring for all you’ll lead, manage and develop health & safety across Everybody – providing advice, guidance and support to management and staff. You’ll also help keep Everybody fit for the future – working in partnership with our Academy to organise and review health & safety training, with management to support and develop people, processes and systems, and with HR to keep our staff wellbeing programmes current and effective.As part of the wider Everybody team working as one, you’ll ensure R.I.D.D.O.R. reporting is conducted as required and within legislation timelines and progress the roll-out of STITCH (our accident & reporting platform) ensuring all facilities are fully utilising its capabilities.Here at Everybody we’re all free to do our best and you’ll have the opportunity to work in partnership with members of the Everybody Management & Leadership Teams to contribute to the corporate strategy of the Trust with the objective of achieving our Vision, Values and Strategic Aims safely. In the future there’s even the potential for this role to also take responsibility for our sustainability & green initiatives – if that’s your thing!As our Health & Safety Manager you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a governance framework to meet Health & Safety legislation, ensuring the safety, health & wellbeing of all employees, stakeholders and customers. You’ll report to the Head of Operations and play a key role supporting the senior operations team. You’ll also provide regular performance reports for the Everybody Leadership Team and Trustees; and deliver the risk management strategy and risk reduction plan – providing help and support where required.You’ll need to be educated to degree level and/or have equivalent professional experience, alongside a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety with chartered membership of IOSH.With extensive knowledge of all relevant legislation and policies, and an awareness of changes to these, you’ll have experience of managing Health & Safety across a medium-large sized organisation and/or across a wide range of workforce roles. You’ll be able to lead the health & safety of an ever-changing, growing and fast-paced organisation with confidence, and have experience of using accident and incident reporting software/systems.For more information on the role, please to view the job profile.Closing date: 13th October 2024Screening calls may be conducted before the closing date.
