*Must have experience in the Irish market*Key Responsibilities:The candidate will typically be expected to undertake and assist with the following duties:
Work as part of the construction management team to ensure the provision of a safe and productive work environment.
Continuously seek to improve Health & Safety standards in a practical manner within the company management system and on specific sites.
Monitor and enforce the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System.
Identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are addressed in site documentation and in a practical manner on site.
Maintain clear lines of communication with the H&S Manager.
Ensure that site folders and statutory records are properly maintained on-site.
Enforce strict adherence to site rules by all contractors.
Assist site management in complying with statutory Health & Safety requirements.
Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to develop and implement risk assessments and improvements to the Safe Systems of Work.
Assist site management in ensuring contractor compliance on sites.
Support the H&S Manager and site management in coordinating safe systems of work for contractors.
Enforce site-specific disciplinary procedures.
Conduct Health & Safety audits on-site and address non-conformances with site management and contractors as they are identified.
Contribute to accident and incident investigations.
Contribute to the development, discussion, and delivery of Tool Box talks.
Identify training needs on-site for personnel and contractors.
The Candidate:
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in managing safety systems in construction, including a qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, is required.
Membership in IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) is preferred.
Ability to manage Health and Safety on-site using initiative within the scope of the management system.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to leverage key relationships across the full spectrum of project stakeholders and statutory bodies.
Capability to manage risk and implement control measures.
Competence in working with contractors from various backgrounds and trades to build strong relationships.
Ability to chair and deliver Health and Safety meetings and presentations.
