This a key role for the firm and will be responsible for all the financial management, providing expert reporting and analysis, robust financial controls, efficient processes and informed executive decision making. In addition, you will also lead a small team of Finance Operations professionals.This is a number one role in finance and report into the firms CEO.Duties include:

• Ensure regulatory financial compliance is adhered to and taking on the COFA role.
• Ensure that the Firm’s cash resources are managed and controlled, including management of working capital.
• Implement and maintain operational excellence across all finance and accounts processes.
• Lead the development of the finance strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
• Liaise with auditors to manage the production of year end accounts as well as financial and SAR account rules audits. This will include negotiation of engagement terms, management of audit process and presentation of the final accounts to the CEO for approval.
• Improve and automate the Firm’s financial systems and processes to ensure they are efficient robust, compliant supporting current activities and future growth.
• Control, oversee, review, and adherence to the budgets for each practice group and business support team.
• In addition to having the ability to think strategically, the role-holder must also be willing to roll their sleeves up and get into the detail when needed.

Experienced needed:

• MUST have previous law firm experience to be able to take on the role of COFA
• Must be qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA as the Head of Finance is the only person in the team who is qualified.
• Will need exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong people management experience to lead an experienced team who have been with the firm a long time

Additional:

• Hybrid working offered – 3 days in the office
• Bonus of up to c.10%
