With inclusion being a key strategic focus, a new team called Education Support has been established to enable our people to make more of a difference.

In this impactful newly created senior role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives aimed at supporting children with complex needs to improve inclusion outcomes for both children and families. You will lead the engagement with our Early Learning and Out of School Hours (OOSH) centre staff to establish their needs to support the inclusion of all children within a play-based learning environment. You will lead the support provided to centre staff in the provision of a play-based, intentional curriculum that targets specific skill development as required for successful inclusion.

This position is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team within Children’s Services and also provides leadership to the Education Support Manager which is also a newly created role that is currently also advertised.

What you need to succeed  

  • Bachelor of Education or similar ACECQA recognised Early Childhood Teacher level qualification.

  • A specialisation, qualification or extensive experience in inclusive education.

  • Experience in developing and executing strategic plans to uplift performance and improve outcomes for children and families.

  • Extensive expertise in mentoring teams and delivering structured professional development programs through guided practice models.

  • Advanced skills and experience in developing evidence-based strategies and support plans to support children who display challenging behaviour, children who have experienced trauma and children of all abilities.
