What you will do

 

  • Build, guide, and mentor a high-performing compliance solutions team, an operationally driven team in a matrix setup, ensuring collaboration across multiple functions and fostering a culture based on Taxdoo’s values: excellence, passion, boldness, and change.
  • Develop and execute the compliance strategy for the team while contributing to the broader Go-To-Market strategy, and seamlessly switch between strategic oversight and operational delivery.
  • Design and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures to address current and emerging regulatory needs.
  • Lead compliance risk assessments and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, providing proactive guidance on compliance-related issues.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on local and international regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of compliance standards and advising the company on any legislative changes.
  • Collaborate with the Product department by driving automation and process efficiencies, leveraging technology for risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and financial penalty mitigation to integrate compliance features into existing and new products, ensuring regulatory adherence and enhancing product value.
  • Be the face of compliance solutions for partners across the EU, particularly tax advisors, driving resilient collaborations and managing compliance risks effectively.
  • Act as the primary compliance liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, and Go-to-Market unit – Customer Support, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Partnerships.
  • Establish and manage compliance monitoring and reporting frameworks to track program effectiveness and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Team up with Engineering to leverage technology to automate compliance processes, enhance data analysis capabilities, and ensure scalability of compliance solutions as the company grows.

 

What you are good at

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, law, finance, or equivalent professional training.
  • 8+ years of experience, including at least 4 years in a senior role with people responsibilities preferably within the TaxTech, FinTech, B2B, VAT, and European taxes area, with a solid understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape in the EU.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of leading high-impact compliance projects and driving organizational change.
  • Team direction capabilities, with a focus on inspiring teams and delivering top performance with demonstrated experience in managing and driving change or transformation processes within a compliance function.
  • Great understanding on how to navigate the entire customer journey from adoption to advocacy, ensuring a seamless experience that drives customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Experience working with compliance technology solutions and leveraging data for decision-making.
  • Proactive, goal-oriented, and fluent in both English and German, with outstanding communication skills.
