The International Secretariat of the FIDH is a human-sized organisation with a committed international team (49 employees in France, 20 employees in several offices abroad (Belgium, Geneva, The Hague, Bangkok).

The FIDH office in Brussels represents FIDH to the European Union institutions (Council, Commission, European Parliament and other associated institutions), and to the representations of its member states. It ensures the visibility of the actions of FIDH and its member organisations towards the European Union, proposes advocacy strategies in order to mobilise the European Union on human rights in the world in an effective way and suggests ways to strengthen the EU’s action.

We are recruiting : HEAD OF CAMPAIGNS (M/F) – Full-time permanent contract

Working within the Communications Department and under the supervision of the Communications Director, the Head of Campaigns coordinates communications actions linked to the current events of the geographical and thematic desks of the Operations and Advocacy Departments. He or she also manages two or three annual or multi-year FIDH campaigns.

He or she works closely with the Press and Editorial Manager and manages a team.

Your role :

Supervision of communication actions and campaigns

  • Define and oversee the design and implementation of FIDH’s communication actions and campaigns;
  • Define the objectives attached to each operation/campaign to encourage financial (fundraising) and non-financial (awareness-raising and mobilisation) commitment, by choosing the appropriate media, targets, tools and content;
  • Oversee collaboration with communications agencies, from the design and drafting of calls for tender, through implementation, to evaluation of work and reporting;
  • Ensure that campaigns are consistent with FIDH’s image and strategy, in line with the aspirations of member organisations and the vision of the FIDH International Bureau;
  • Coordinate campaigns with FIDH member organisations and partners.

Management and coordination

  • Manage a team comprising a digital communications manager, a campaign manager, an intern, and occasional service providers;
  • Coordinate the production of content with the Head of Press and Editorial, the fundraising and advocacy departments: set up key messages, validate publications on social networks, etc;
  • Help manage the communications budget and monitor the administration of service providers and consultants;
  • Analysing the results of operations and campaigns and participating in reporting.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent writing skills in English (ideally mother tongue) and French, with the ability to analyse and summarise; Spanish would be a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully running campaigns for the general public using a variety of media.
  • Good knowledge of different communication channels, particularly social networks.
  • Knowledge of design software and SEO techniques.Organised, rigorous, flexible and independent.
  • Adaptability, diplomacy and consensus-building skills.
  • Creativity and initiative.
  • Ability to work in a hurry but also to take a step back.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master’s degree in communication, journalism, political science, human science or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 10 years’ professional experience in an NGO, communications agency, international organisation, media or political office, in France or abroad. International experience would be a plus.
  • At least one management experience (in a multi-linguistic and multi-cultural context would be a plus).
  • Political awareness and activist sensitivity, knowledge of geopolitical issues and the human rights environment.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Permanent contract based in Paris 11e
  • Remuneration: from 46K€ gross per annum over 13 months.
  • • Teleworking is possible with a minimum of 4 days face-to-face per month.
  • 24 days’ leave per year
  • Luncheon vouchers with a face value of €9,60% paid by the FIDH.
  • Supplementary health insurance covered at 100% by FIDH.
  • Sustainable mobility package or 50% reimbursement of the cost of public transport season tickets.
