About Our Role
An exciting opportunity exists for the casual position(s) of Harvester Operator with our Raw Procurement team. Raw Procurement comprises farming and harvesting operations and lead research and development that supports our potato and vegetable growers to ensure our sites have the best available produce for processing today and for generations to come.
Commencing late October, these critical roles will involve safe operations of our Oxbo GP1189 Pea Harvesters. Based out of our Wesley Vale site, this role will require work across Tasmania.

Ordinary rates of $37.75 p/h (inclusive of 25% casual loading) + shift loading & penalties.

What You Will Do
Forming part of our Harvesters team, the successful candidate will safely operate a variety of our harvester fleet (incl. Oxbo GP1189 Pea Harvester) and bin haul tractors throughout pea growing regions of Tasmania.
Duties will include:

Perform pre-start check on all harvesting equipment
-
Liaise with Field Officers to ensure harvesting plans & targets are met
-
Meet operational KPIs
-
Liaise with maintenance teams in relation to preventative maintenance and breakdowns
-
Refueling of mobile equipment
-
Use of radio communications across the fleet
-
Use of harvester GPS systems (Ag Leader GPS)
About You
-
100% commitment to health and safety in the workplace

Ability to work across a variety of 12 hour shifts with early morning starts

Capacity to spend time away from home (company provided accommodation) – where required

Ability to attend Driver Training Day (early November)

Posses a valid open drivers licence (mandatory)
-
Previous harvesting experience would be advantageous
-
Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
-
Possess positive communication skills
-
Possess a high attention to detail
-
Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
