Location
This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises of 295 guest rooms, suites and villas.
Department
The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Handyperson to work within the Engineering Department. The position reports to the Chief Engineer.
The Position
Attend to repairs and maintenance of all systems and related equipment of a minor nature based on skill level
Responsible for guest requests for repairs to guestrooms
Perform general and emergency repairs and maintenance to all plant and equipment based on skill and experience level
Carry out preventative maintenance inspections as per computerised system
Perform and assist with Fire Protection Preventative Maintenance Program, ensuring all items are inspected as per weekly schedule
Assist engineering trades as required
Ensure Fire and Engineering safety features operate at peak efficiency
Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel
Ensure proper measures are taken to protect the environment and the Hotel’s adherence to it
Perform all tasks to ensure works have been completed in a reasonable time frame, to a standard required as set by Engineering Management
About You
Must have permanent working rights in Australia
Trade Qualified (desirable)
12 months experience in a similar role
First Aid Certificate (desirable)
General Construction Induction Training Card (previously known as (White Card)
Basic Computer Skills
