Prior experience in monthly financial close is essential. Being able to adapt to the fast paced, demanding department completing ad hoc projects as required.
You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to continuously improve the accounting and month end process, using total quality management tools to drive through any improvements.
You will be expected to perform all your responsibilities in compliance with the Otis Policies and Code of Ethics.On a typical day you will:
- Heavily involved in the month end reporting process, analysis of overheads and cost center data, preparing month end journals and full balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Providing team assistance where necessary, preparing reconciliations and other required statutory filings.
- The role will involve working against tight time deadlines at month end and also during the year to ensure compliance deadlines are met, for which there can be company financial penalties.
- Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures.
- Complete quarterly ethics modules.
- To fully comply with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, RAMS, ACE
What You Will Need to be Successful:
- Ideal candidate will be qualified ACCA/ACA, with strong academic background and sound technical financial knowledge with an ability to thrive under pressure
- Previous experience working within an accounting environment
- Previous experience with month end closing process essential
- Statutory Compliance, UK GAAP, IFRS knowledge, US GAAP knowledge desirable.
- Excellent excel and system skills
- Confident communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to challenge and continuously improve
- Eye for detail and a proven desire to ensure accuracy at all times
- Good time management skills
- Ability to adapt and thrive under pressure
- Ability to coach others in technical aspects of Accountancy
- Attention to detail / proactive nature.
