We are looking for a dedicated Greek Language Teacher to join our volunteer team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging Greek language lessons to students from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with exceptionalities, and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic growth, emotional resilience, and cultural understanding, helping students thrive in a multicultural setting. This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of displaced individuals while working in a dynamic, humanitarian aid context.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop engaging, inclusive Greek language lessons that cater to the varying needs and abilities of students, ensuring accessibility for all.
- Teach Greek language lessons in both group settings and one-on-one tutoring sessions, ensuring the material is engaging and suited to the learners’ pace and level.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages academic and emotional growth, helping students build confidence in their language skills.
- Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to ensure effective learning.
- Work alongside other educators and staff members to support the overall educational goals of the program and promote a cohesive learning experience.
- Respect and incorporate the diverse cultural backgrounds of students into the learning process, fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficiency in both English and Greek is required.
- Previous experience in teaching or tutoring, particularly with language instruction is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students from different backgrounds and varying educational levels.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, multicultural environment, adjusting to the unique challenges and opportunities that arise.
