Through top scientific research, we push back boundaries and set a course for the future – a future that you can help to shape.The Department of Marketing in the Faculty of Business Economics has the following vacancy (100%- 80%): graduate teaching & research assistant in the field of Marketing.PositionAs a graduate teaching & research assistant, you will be part of the Academic Assistant Staff (Dutch: Assisterend Academisch Personeel, AAP). You will spend at least 50% of your working time preparing a PhD thesis. In addition, you will play an assisting role in teaching, research and service activities.PhD research
- You will work actively on the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis in the field of Marketing. You will independently develop a research proposal that aligns with the research interests of the department members. The proposed research will focus on the domain of sustainable consumer behavior in relation to food. Various methods, including, for example, field experiments, surveys, and interviews, will be employed to conduct the research.

Education
- You take on teaching support tasks and provide high-quality academic education. Teaching support may include courses such as Marketing, Services Marketing, Omnichannel & Digital Marketing, Market Research, or Consumer Behavior, in consultation with the department.
- Your teaching responsibilities evolve in line with your experience, interests, and the educational programs.
- You supervise students working on bachelor’s and master’s theses.

- You will play an active role in the academic and societal service provision of marketing. You actively contribute to the scientific and societal service activities of the Marketing department. For example, you support student recruitment, contribute to societal themes through your research, or collaborate with international partners.
Profile
- You hold a master’s degree in Applied Economics, Business Engineering (in Management Information Systems), Psychology, Communication Sciences, or another relevant discipline. Final-year students are also encouraged to apply, provided that the degree is obtained by the time of employment.
- You have an excellent academic record and graduated with great distinction.
- You have a strong interest in academic research and can demonstrate the necessary (methodological) competencies.
- Your research skills align with the faculty and university research policies.
- Your teaching competencies align with the educational vision of the University of Antwerp.
- You are motivated to actively take charge of your further professional development.
- You are fluent in both spoken and written English (and Dutch).
- You are quality-oriented, honest, creative, and collaborative.
- You are capable of working independently.
- Experience in marketing or academic teaching and research is an asset but not a requirement.
