What does a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in Buildings do?

Develop designs for the construction, operation and maintenance of machines and mechanical systems for building and built environment projects
-
Engaging with stakeholders such as authorities, clients (external and internal), suppliers and project team members
-
Work with architects, structural engineers and other design professionals to shape the buildings of the future
-
Involvement in planning and feasibility studies through to concept and detailed design.

Undertaking site-based investigations and construction phase site visits for a “start to finish” experience
-
Assess existing installations and systems for compliance and upgrade.

Create drawings and schematics using REVIT, 3D modelling, BIM and other industry software
-
Perform calculations to analyse and design mechanical system components
-
Working on a variety of projects concurrently
