UCC wishes to appoint a governance professional to join an agile governance team in the Office of Corporate and Legal Affairs, University College Cork where they can expect their role to evolve over time and be supported in their professional development.

Reporting to the Director of Governance, the Governing Authority and Committees Support Administrator will play a key role in enabling the University Community to meet the ever-growing governance requirements applicable to the University and its subsidiary companies. Their responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Director of Governance in ensuring the University and its subsidiary companies are meeting the standards of good corporate governance required of them.
  • Providing high quality proactive secretariat service to the Governing Authority and its committees to facilitate its efficient and effective operation.
  • Supporting the Director of Governance on the implementation of action plans for new and developing regulatory requirements such as but not limited to, the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies 2016, the Code of Governance for University Subsidiaries 2022, and the Charities Governance Code.
  • Co-ordination of meeting scheduling, meeting agenda and papers for Governing Authority, Committees and Board meetings.

The successful candidate will be part of a high-performing group of professionals and will actively contribute to the Office of Corporate and Legal Affairs’ continuous efforts in implementing process improvements to ensure excellence in service delivery. 

The work in this role will be diverse and challenging and will provide the successful candidate with interesting experience across a broad range of matters as well as the opportunity to develop their skills, and knowledge.

The Office of Corporate and Legal Affairs operates a hybrid working model in accordance with the University’s Remote Working Policy.

Appointment may be made on the Admin III (Grade 6) Salary Scale: €57,914 – €69,145 (Scale B) / €55,142 – €65,798 (Scale A) 

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
