In joining our Finance team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team, working to achieve maximum value for ESB Group.An opportunity has arisen in Corporate Centre and Strategy Innovation and Transformation (SIT) for a Governance Manager to oversee and take responsibility for governance matters in both business units. SIT includes Innovation, the area of ESB which develops new ideas which could turn into viable projects, aligned to ESB strategy as we strive to achieve Net Zero by 2040.Key Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance of a robust governance control framework within the relevant business lines.
  • Review and support and/or implement processes and systems to ensure robust governance, and evidence for the same across the business.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual governance sign offs as required.
  • Co-ordinate the risk process with both business units.
  • Liaising with Group Internal Audit with respect to agreed audit findings and other matters.
  • Ensure staff are briefed yearly on all governance matters such as Our Code, Authority Levels, etc.
  • Manage yearly returns for compliance with State Body Guidelines, ESB Networks compliance and others as required.
  • Review and update risk control matrix in place for key processes.
  • Review non key processes and come up with recommendations to FC.
  • Ensure Authority levels are reviewed each year and updated to ensure that they are in line with Group Authority levels.
  • Carry out review of CPC cards each quarter to ensure the users and approvers are in compliant with the rules around CPC use.
  • Support and advise on governance matters relating to internal and third-party projects (JVs or other investments)
  • Take the lead on any matters arising from the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) project.
  • Ad hoc issues that might arise relating to Governance issues as agreed with FC.

Experience and QualificationsEssential

  • An accounting or other financial professional qualification is required with at least 3-4 years relevant PQE.
  • An ability to act independently.
  • Strong technical Financial and or Governance knowledge & experience including excellent Excel skills.
  • Experience is Governance would be desirable.

Desirable

  • A knowledge of the energy industry would be beneficial.

LocationThis position will be based in ESB H.O., 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working.
