Ref 76454 Vacancy title Geotechnical Engineer/ Engineering Geologist Function(s) Design, Engineering Contract type Full time permanent Region Scotland Location(s) Eurocentrral DescriptionAs a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist, you will be required to produce comprehensive geotechnical design and specification packages for all aspects of civil and structural engineering projects.You will carry out any or all stages of design from concept to completion across sectors including rail, science and technology, waste to energy, aviation and healthcare.Responsibilities

  • Perform all technical and departmental duties as listed above.
  • Keep up to date with ground engineering design trends/customer awareness/design techniques.
  • Review specialist subcontractor’s reports for technical compliance with design intent.
  • Undertake all aspects of geotechnical design work on various project sizes across the following sectors: Rail, Power, Highways, Defence, Aviation, Public Sector and Life Sciences.
  • Be conversant with current technical codes, standards and responsibilities under CDM and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work within a fully integrated, multi-discipline design team.
  • Offer support and guidance to junior team members.
  • Represent the company at client meetings.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (or Equivalent)
  • Working toward chartered status through an appropriate body (ICE, GeolSoc, IMMM)
  • Experience in a consultancy, within ground engineering
  • Experience in the delivery of studies, specifications, interpretive reporting, and aspects of geotechnical design
