General Practitioner – NT Remote Locum Program

Aspen Medical

jobsnear.net

The NT Remote Locum Program is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led remote health workforce program. We work to strengthen and uplift existing health services in the NT to provide quality healthcare to their communities.

We are looking for skilled and experienced General Practitioners to work as part of a holistic community health service team. You will be supported by highly experienced Aboriginal health practitioners, nurses, drivers and administration staff. The team’s remote knowledge will assist and guide you to provide culturally safe oral health care.

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • A fellowship with either Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine
  • Evidence of completion of current and previous triennium requirements and active participation in continuing education recognised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Quality Assurance and Continuous Professional Development (RACGP QA & CPD) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine-Professional Development Program (ACRRM PDP) or other specialist college, as applicable
  • Minimum of 250 hours of relevant full-time clinical experience working as a general practitioner within the past 12 months
  • Evidence of current professional indemnity insurance as a General Practitioner (Level 1)
  • Basic Life Support

What’s in it for you?

We’ll take care of the arrangements for your placement, talking to you and the health service you will be joining throughout the process.

As you transition to a remote setting, we provide cultural orientation and ongoing support so you can concentrate on providing a quality oral health care service to the community.

As an urban-based GP, you already have the skills to work in a remote community. But the health issues you work with in remote communities might be different to those in urban and rural areas. You can expect to expand your skills and knowledge and we provide plenty of resources to support your new experiences, including the NT Remote Locum Program eLearning program.

So you can transition smoothly, we will provide:

  • free online training valid for CPD with ACRRM
  • 24/7 support
  • information about the community where your placement is, and logistical information about travelling to, living and working there.

Apply now!
