Chemonics seeks a Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor for the USAID-funded Egypt Water Resilience Activity. This 5-year activity will focus on improving evidence-based policymaking for water and wastewater utility resilience, improving implementation of adaptation strategies at selected governorates, and increasing awareness about climate change in selected communities. Reporting:
The GESI Advisor will report to the Chief of Party.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that GESI interventions are mainstreamed within the project’s activities.
- Maintain technical quality control for all assigned areas of training and capacity-building related work, including design and implementation of training curricula, and development of a cohesive, integrated and sustainable training system.
- Ensure that the performance targets and deliverables relating to training and capacity-strengthening outlined in the Water Resilience Activity agreement and annual work plans are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, and that they meet high quality standards; coordinate with management teams and suggest adjustments as needed.
- Liaise regularly with representatives of ministries, counterparts and stakeholders’ representatives responsible for overseeing and implementing, GESI, training and capacity-building programs.
- Contribute to project quarterly reports, annual work plans, and other project reports and deliverables as required.
- Coordinate tasks with other project staff working as a team as directed by the Chief of Party.
Qualifications:
- University degree in social services, business administration, or other relevant field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience with institutional development and/or training programs in Egypt, at least two (2) years of which should be as a training manager or comparable experience.
- Experience working with USAID or other donor-funded programs is preferred.
- Experience working with public, private and/or a government ministry is preferred.
- Demonstrated professional excellence and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to build consensus and coordinate with diverse actors, including government, NGOs, civil society organizations, and private sector.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
