The Freelancer Membership Officer is responsible for developing a structured membership program, defining levels, guidelines, benefits, and responsibilities. This role focuses on creating engaging member activities and experiences to attract and retain members while aligning with the organization’s goals. The officer will facilitate the recruitment, retention, and onboarding of members, manage membership workflows, and ensure clear communication with members. Additionally, they will provide a scalable, sustainable roadmap for the secretariat to implement in Phase 2. This position is pivotal in building a strong and engaged membership base that drives growth and long-term impact.

Responsibilities
Membership Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support membership recruitment through campaigns, social media, and events.
  • Process applications and ensure accurate onboarding for new members.

Member Retention & Engagement

  • Assist in retention strategies, including renewal reminders and personalized outreach.
  • Track member engagement, plan events, and collect feedback to enhance satisfaction.

Membership Administration

  • Process renewals, upgrades, and cancellations, and handle payments and invoicing.
  • Maintain detailed member records and generate membership reports.
  • Resolve membership-related issues and ensure timely support.

Member Communication

  • Coordinate communication with members via newsletters, reminders, and updates.
  • Serve as a point of contact for member inquiries and issues.
  • Create content to promote member benefits and engagement.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Work with the membership team and other departments to align goals and strategies.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns and promotional materials for new members.

Data Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure the accuracy of membership data and monitor membership trends.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance member experience and retention.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or another relevant field.
  • Master’s degree or higher in the related field is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 5 years in membership management or similar roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful membership strategies.
  • Marketing and Events Management Experience
