Ivy & Jack is a 125-seat venue on the doorstep of Perth CBD, on Hay St. It was once home to the old Town Cinema but is now an urban industrial-chic restaurant with a modern twist.

Ivy & Jack is part of the Holiday Inn Perth City Centre, so our customers vary from in-house guests (often enjoying buffet breakfast), external customers, or corporate clients utilizing our conference spaces. The venue is open from breakfast to dinner, 7 days per week.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of operations within Ivy & Jack, to deliver a unique guest experience. As the person in charge of our great venue, you’ll be a self-starter, enthusiastic, and have a ‘hands-on-approach’ to guide and support your team.
This critical leadership position requires proven capability to take the lead with the team and create exceptional guest experiences, as well as working well under pressure. You will have a passion for creating great guest experiences as well as a focus on motivating and engaging your team to deliver results while working collaboratively with all other departments to ensure a streamlined guest experience.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Managing day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage Team, including preparing/overseeing department rosters in line with the Hospitality Industry General Award.

Ensuring the Hotel’s key metrics are met and exceeded through engagement initiatives to drive revenue, increase breakfast experience, meet hotels guest love targets, improve efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Training, mentoring, and motivating colleagues to deliver exceptional service and uphold brand standards.

Collaborating with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience.

Conducting/supporting your team with recruitment and onboarding practices.

Working closely with the finance team to set, monitor, and realign your departmental budgets, including managing payroll costs.

Monitoring the performance of employees and initiating disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy as required.

Resolving guest complaints in a prompt and professional manner and in accordance with established service recovery guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction.

Maintaining a high standard of Work Health & Safety within your departments.

Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards by implementing and monitoring HACCP protocols throughout kitchen operations.

Overseeing and enforcing strict cleanliness and hygiene practices within the kitchen and food service areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for food preparation and service.

Documenting and recording all incidents involving guests or employees, or other relevant events, on the appropriate reporting systems.

Creating a fantastic working environment for your team to thrive and driving collaboration between departments.
What We need from you:
• 4+ years’ Food and Beverage/Kitchen experience with two years in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• The ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities.
• Ability to analyse data and implement strategies to drive results and improve efficiency.
• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for exceeding guest expectations.
• Full Australian working rights.
