  • Level 2 $25.23 – $63.07 / hour (based on penalties super tips service charge where applicable)

What will a day on the job be like?

  • No two days are the same, in this role you’ll be directly impacting the guest experience, working closely with an experienced team, and delivering Food and Beverage service.
  • You would be working alongside a multiskilled team within Food & Beverage department.
  • Creating exceptional guest experiences in all interactions with our guests.
  • Ensuring all guests receive a friendly, warm welcome, prompt attention along with quick, efficient service.
  • Assist guests as they are seated.
  • Set up and maintain all service areas & stations with sufficient mise en place for the length of service.
  • Ensure orders are promptly collected from the kitchen when ready and carried to the guests appropriately.
  • Assist/undertake tasks of the barista or bartender.
  • Undertaking general waiting duties for food or beverages or both, including cleaning tables.
  • Mixing a range of sophisticated drinks.
  • Taking reservations, greeting and seating guests.
  • Demonstrate exemplary menu & product knowledge and be familiar with all items on menus available.
  • Demonstrate responsible service of alcohol to all patrons at all times.
  • Exhibit exemplary personal behaviour, appearance, and attitude.
  • Ensure tables and chairs are correctly positioned for each seating and that all chairs, seats, and floor are spotlessly clean before the arrival of each guest and to be maintained during service.
  • Cooperate with Hilton Sydney regarding any requirement that is enforced in the interests of health, safety, and welfare at work.
  • Possible physical duties:

  • Carrying plates of food

  • Carrying/pushing tables and chairs
  • Carrying trays of drinks and food
  • Carrying piles of linen
  • Carrying and polishing cutlery, crockery and glassware
  • Clearing tables
  • Pushing trolleys
  • Reaching for racks and top shelves
  • Loading and unloading fridges and cupboards (i.e. carrying and bending)
  • Carrying beer slabs and wine cartons
  • Standing up to/or greater than eight hours

What are we looking for?

  • Must possess current and valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certification.
  • Previous work experience in Hospitality or Customer Service is desirable.
  • Previous food hygiene experience is desirable.
  • Completed tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management are desirable.
  • Electronic Ordering Systems experience is desirable.
  • Cash handling Experience is desirable.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills in both oral and written communication.
  • Time management and ability to follow directions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent grooming standards.
  • Able to work on a rotating roster, both day and night shifts involving late starts and early finishes.
  • Must have valid Australian working rights (minimum 6 months).
