Financial Controller – Finance Lead

The Financial Controller – Finance Lead position involves taking ownership of financial management, with a focus on Statutory Reporting in full (FRS 102, balance sheet, cashflow, schedules), budget control and financial performance analysis of full P&L. The role also requires the effective leadership of a team within the Accounting & Finance department of 3 directs.

Banking & Financial Services

  • Statutory Reporting in full (FRS 102, balance sheet, cashflow, schedules) — essential
  • Ensuring accuracy of financial data and control environment (able to handle manual processes on Excel, build into something more streamlined) — essential
  • Overseeing budget planning and management – full P&L view — not a pre-requisite, nice to have
  • Analysing financial performance and presenting financial forecasts — not a pre-requisite, nice to have
  • Leading a team within the Accounting & Finance department (manage a team of 3 directly whilst also dotted line ensuring regulatory reporting personnel feed in to the consolidated view on a dotted-line reporting basis) — essential
  • Developing strategies for financial growth (engage product, model) — not a pre-requisite, nice to have
  • Collaborating with senior management on strategic financial planning to C-Suite level — essential

Banking & Financial ServicesA successful Financial Controller – Finance Lead should have:

  • A degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Proven experience in a Statutory Reporting / Financial Reporting role
  • Proficiency in use of financial software (specifically strong Excel)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation (FRS 102)
